About Me

Born and raised in Chicago, Gimmeasec is an emerging artist blending elements of R&B, neo-soul, alternative, and funk into emotionally driven music rooted in self-expression and human connection. Growing up in a Mexican and Guatemalan household as the youngest of four siblings, music was always present in his life — from family jam sessions to early inspirations found through friends and local creatives. What began as experimenting with a cheap USB microphone during quarantine slowly evolved into a serious artistic pursuit shaped by years of personal growth, relationships, and introspection.

Originally releasing music under the name “D@NNY,” Gimmeasec developed his sound quietly throughout high school before stepping more confidently into Chicago’s independent music scene. His work focuses heavily on vulnerability, emotional honesty, and storytelling, aiming to make listeners feel understood through shared experiences. Drawing inspiration from artists like Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, and Lauryn Hill, he combines soulful melodies with reflective lyricism and modern production.

As his presence continues to grow throughout Chicago, Gimmeasec has begun performing at local events and connecting with a wider creative community. With plans for new music, merchandise, and live performances — including an appearance at Midsommarfest — he continues building a career centered around authenticity, collaboration, and emotional connection through music.
